UX case study: cookcook

A user experience to help people learn how to cook healthier meals

Product:

With the busy lives that we live today comes a lot of challenges when it comes to our personal lives. One such area is cooking, which we can also see through the reports that people barely have time to cook or they’re too tired. Which is where this project finds its place.

People don’t really want to send too much time on the work days on cooking and most of the time they end up having frozen food or end up ordering a takeaway. So we are creating a website for easy cooking called “cookcook” which would help people to start preparing easy yet nutritious meals without having to spend much time.

The problem:

We are living in the social media age, there are a lot of sources of recipes available but the problem is very few sources are arranged for easy access. With too many options, confusion arises!

The goal:

Design a website which would allow the users to get the simple recipes easy and quick.

My role:

UX Designer designing a website for cookbook from conception to delivery

Responsibilities:

Conducting interviews, paper and digital wireframes, low and high fidelity prototyping, conducting usability studies, accounting for accessibility  and, iterating on designs

User Research: Summary

I conducted interviews and created empathy maps to understand the users I am designing for and their needs. The primary user group identified was the working adults who were living alone.

This group confirmed the initial assumption that the users didn’t want to spend time on looking for recipes online because there are many available online.
